Europe: Heavy Rains Batter Poland, Czech Republic, Austria

Torrential downpours have caused widespread flooding and damage across parts of Europe, with Poland, the Czech Republic, and Austria particularly hard hit.

In Poland, the southern regions of the country have been hardest hit, with the city of Krakow seeing some of the worst flooding. Rivers have burst their banks, inundating streets and homes, and forcing thousands of people to evacuate.

In the Czech Republic, the capital city of Prague has been badly affected, with the Vltava River overflowing and flooding large parts of the city center. Many roads have been closed, and public transport has been disrupted.

In Austria, the provinces of Carinthia and Styria have been particularly badly hit, with heavy rain causing landslides and flooding. The town of Villach has been cut off by floodwaters, and several roads have been closed.

The heavy rains are expected to continue for the next few days, and further flooding is possible. The authorities in all three countries are urging people to be prepared for further disruption and to take necessary precautions.
