Cavs Vs Celtics Game 7

2018 NBA Eastern Conference Finals Game 7: The Final Two Minutes

Synopsis

The 2018 Eastern Conference Finals Game 7 between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics was a nail-biter that went down to the wire. With just two minutes remaining in the game, the Cavaliers held a narrow 85-79 lead.

The Final Moments

The Celtics had possession of the ball and needed a quick score to stay in the game. Kyrie Irving brought the ball up the court and passed it to Jayson Tatum, who was guarded by LeBron James. Tatum dribbled to his right and pulled up for a three-pointer, but James contested the shot and it bounced off the rim.

The Cavaliers rebounded the miss and quickly pushed the ball up the court. James received a pass at the top of the key and drove to the basket. He was met by Al Horford, who fouled him hard. James hit both free throws to put the Cavaliers up by five points with just over a minute remaining.

The Celtics still had a chance to tie the game, but they needed to score a three-pointer. Irving brought the ball up the court again and passed it to Marcus Morris, who was open at the three-point line. Morris caught and shot the ball, but it rimmed out. The Cavaliers rebounded the miss and ran out the clock to secure the victory.

LeBron James' Performance

LeBron James was once again the star of the game for the Cavaliers. He finished with 35 points, 15 rebounds, and 9 assists. He also played exceptional defense, limiting Jayson Tatum to just 13 points on 4-of-18 shooting.

James' performance was particularly impressive in the final two minutes of the game. He hit two clutch free throws to put the Cavaliers up by five points and then played stifling defense on Tatum to prevent the Celtics from getting a good shot.

The Celtics' Disappointment

The Celtics were understandably disappointed after losing Game 7. They had fought hard all season and came within two minutes of reaching the NBA Finals. However, they were unable to overcome the Cavaliers and LeBron James.

Despite the loss, the Celtics can be proud of their season. They won 55 games and made it to the Eastern Conference Finals. They also showed that they have a bright future with young players like Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Kyrie Irving.
